Reflective Practice In-Person

While most instructors carefully consider planning, lecture, activities, and materials as vital parts of a lesson, the aftermath of a lesson – reflection– is often neglected. This 2-hour training will focus on how to use reflective practice to increase your effectiveness as an instructor. We will examine our instructional decisions; think critically about beliefs concerning students and teaching; and consider ways to emphasize or modify our teaching strategies.

Training will be held on Tuesday, June 4 from 9-11am via Teams and CCEN 243.  Virtual participants will receive a link via WS email to the session prior to the event. You will need a computer with an internet connection to attend virtually.

Only faculty who have taught Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or are currently teaching may receive pay for this training.  Faculty members who have completed this training before must receive permission to be compensated for it from the Executive Director of IDEAS: Candace Justice (candace.justice@ws.edu).  Faculty members who attend and complete an assessment of the training will receive extra compensation of $50 (pre-tax) paid according to payroll's established deadlines. If you have questions about the training, please contact Kristen Johnson (Kristen.johnson@ws.edu).
