Basic Teaching Strategies In-Person
Come gather some great tools for your teaching toolbox as we discuss basic teaching strategies including chunking, scaffolding, collaborative learning, and modeling, as well as evidence-based practices! During this training, we will see examples of how these strategies could be used and discuss how you can use these strategies in your own courses to optimize student learning.
Training will be held on Tuesday, September 24 from 2-4pm via Teams and CCEN 243. Virtual participants will receive a link via WS email to the session prior to the event. You will need a computer with an internet connection to attend virtually.
Only faculty who have taught Spring 2024, Summer 2024 or are currently teaching may receive pay for this training. Faculty members who have completed this training before must receive permission to be compensated for it from the Executive Director of IDEAS: Candace Justice (candace.justice@ws.edu). Faculty members who attend and complete an assessment of the training will receive extra compensation of $50 (pre-tax) paid according to payroll's established deadlines. If you have questions about the training, please contact Kristen Johnson (Kristen.johnson@ws.edu)
