Book Community of Practice: Small Teaching Online In-Person
Want to seek a professional development that involves independent learning and group discussion? In this Community of Practice, you will be provided with a copy of Small Teaching Online by Flower Darby. Once a month (February, March, and April), the group will meet to discuss their reading and how it applies to their individual classes. For the February 17 from 3-5pm meeting, the group should have read and be prepared to discuss Part 1: Designing for Learning. For the second meeting (March 17 from 3-5pm), the group should have read and be prepared to discuss Part 2: Teaching Humans. For the last meeting, (April 21 from 3-5pm), the group should have read and be prepared to discuss Part 3: Motivating Online Students (and Instructors).
Training will be held on February 17 from 3-5pm, March 17 from 3-5pm, and April 21 from 3-5pm via Teams ONLY. Participants will receive a link via WS email to the Team session prior to the event. You will need a computer with internet connection to attend. You only have to register for the first event; registration is automatic for the other two.
Faculty will not be compensated for this training. If you have questions about the training, please contact Erin Bilotti (erin.bilotti@ws.edu).
