Planning Smarter: Using AI to Build and Manage HIPs In-Person
High-Impact Practices (HIPs) are powerful teaching tools—and with the help of AI, they can be easier to plan and manage than ever. This session explores how faculty can use AI to support the development of HIPs like service-learning, undergraduate research, and learning communities. We’ll look at practical ways AI can help brainstorm project ideas, build assignment instructions, generate reflection prompts, and simplify your workflow.
Whether you're just getting started with HIPs or looking to fine-tune your current approach, you'll leave with easy-to-use tools and strategies that save time and support student success.
Training will be held on November 5, 2-4 pm on Teams. Participants will receive a link via WS email to the session prior to the event. You will need a computer with an internet connection to attend virtually.
Only faculty who have taught Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or are currently teaching may receive pay for this training. Faculty members who have completed this training before must receive permission to be compensated for it from the Executive Director of IDEAS: Candace Justice (candace.justice@ws.edu). Faculty members who attend and complete an assessment of the training will receive extra compensation of $50 (pre-tax) paid according to payroll's established deadlines. If you have questions about the training, please contact Angie at Angie.Elkins@ws.edu
