Motivating Students In-Person

What truly motivates students to engage and succeed? In this session, we’ll explore the key drivers of student motivation and how meaningful relationships play a vital role. Together, we’ll discuss practical ways to foster connections and identify simple strategies to build a stronger sense of community both online and in person. Walk away with fresh ideas you can implement right away to boost motivation and belonging in your classroom.

Training will be held on Thursday, October 30th from 2-4pm in CCEN 243 and via Teams.. Participants will receive a link via WS email to the session prior to the event. You will need a computer with an internet connection to attend virtually.

Only faculty who have taught Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or are currently teaching may receive pay for this training.  Faculty members who have completed this training before must receive permission to be compensated for it from the Executive Director of IDEAS: Candace Justice (candace.justice@ws.edu).  Faculty members who attend and complete an assessment of the training will receive extra compensation of $50 (pre-tax) paid according to payroll's established deadlines.
